OUTGOING RSS STAFFER IS OFFERED NEW YORK STUDY OPPORTUNITY

Salaam Shalom’s former Station Manager Kyle Hannan has been selected for an intensive, executive development program at New York’s Columbia Business School this Summer.

The ADR Fellowship Program in Social Entrepreneurship & Cross-Culture Networks provides academic and business training in the context of Muslim-Jewish intercultural dialogue.

Mr Hannan said that there were still some important arrangements to finalise but the recognition for Salaam Shalom’s work was encouraging.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to get together with an amazing group of people as we share knowledge, spark inspiration and broaden solid business sense”, he said.

” It was a rigorous process and I’m grateful for the Salaam Shalom Board’s encouragement to apply. Even though I’ll be moving on from Salaam Shalom this April, I’ll make sure I feed back to the project everything I learn – and share what we’ve done here in Bristol with a new network of people who can work together to make intercultural dialogue everybody‘s business”.

London’s Jewish Museum reopens.

THE NEW JEWISH MUSEUM OPENS THIS WEEK IN CAMDEN

(as reported in the Jewish Chronicle. Read their full article here)

The Jewish Museum in London reopens this week after a £10m expansion project.  Designed by Long & Kentish architects, this triples the museum’s space. Its four main galleries are devoted to an introduction, history of British Jews, Jewish faith and the holocaust.

Founded in 1932, the Jewish Museum merged in 1995 with the Finchley-based London Museum of Jewish Life.

Museum director Rickie Burman said the team had faced the challenge of “how to reflect the Jewish community today in all its diversity”.
