Stories From Three Palestinians “Peacebuilding in Our Community”

A free event taking place on Thursday 23 April at The Ammerdown Centre

Three inspirational community workers from Palestine who live in the same city will be sharing their personal stories of how they are inspiring a spirit of peace amongst the next generation of young Palestinians. This event will be taking place 8pm to 9.15pm on Thursday 23rd April at ‘The Ammerdown Centre’ (Ammerdown Park, Radstock BA3 5SW), with the bar opening at 7.30pm.

The Palestinian speakers are: a head-teacher of a boys’ primary school, a law student and a community sports leaders. They have been invited by the ‘Friends of Palestine’ Bradford Upon Avon to give a series of talks and workshops in local schools, churches and community centres over two weeks.

The Ammerdown Centre is delighted to be hosting this public event because we rarely get the opportunity to see beyond the headlines and hear about some of the positive peace-building work that happens on the ground in Palestine. The speakers are dedicated men who are passionately committed to giving the younger generation hope for the future through education, sports and arts activities. To quote one of them: “I want to create change in our community so that our people are not stuck in the past and in history.” These aspirations fit beautifully with The Ammerdown Centre’s aims to promote dialogue, peace-building and reconciliation.

Please come and join us for what will be an interesting and enriching evening which will hopefully give you a further insight into the positive peace-building taking place in Palestine.
